Good morning,
Romans 12:16-19 NIV
[16] Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. [17] Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. [18] If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. [19] Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
This is a hard one sometimes. I'm going to be transparent again today. I usually like to think of myself as patient and kind. However, there are times when I lash back. At the time I feel I have the right. Later though, I realize that I need to repent. No matter someone else's disposition or attitude, we're still children of God.
Now I'm not saying let someone walk all over you. There is a difference. If keeping your mouth shut or staying calm brings about peace and order.... Then why not choose the path of least resistance? Like I said "it's hard sometimes".
The Bible tells us that our Lord will fight our battles. It's better to pray for the persecutors than to take things into our own hands. I don't know about you, but when I try to take the wheel it ends up reckless. I always make a mess of situations that God could turn around.
So today as we go forward, let's try to bring peace instead of turmoil.
