Today has been a tough day! I'm still recovering from my procedures and we said good bye to our longtime friend, our fur baby Cookie. Again, what I share is what God is laying on my heart and how I'm using it in my walk.
In order to have peace we must first keep our eyes on Jesus. If we turn away from Him and focus on the things of this world then it will be harder to maintain that perfect peace. Maintaining peace is not always an easy thing when the things around us come crumbling down. However, Jesus prepares a way for us in His word.
John 16:33 ~ I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
How encouraging to know that the victory is ours in the end. We will experience pain and tribulation while here on this Earth but that pain is only temporary.
Psalms 4:8
[8]I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
The sufferings of this world won't last forever. We will have joy in the morning, we will celebrate again, we will have happiness again, and smile even after the worst of sorrows. Peace is possible as long as we have faith, Hope and keep our eyes focused on Jesus. My prayer is that I leave you in peace today and that you find your solace and rest in Jesus Christ.
