1 Corinthians 13 reminds us how to love like Christ loves us. I know it's not easy, but remember we're not guaranteed tomorrow with our loved ones. Why waste precious time being self focused or unforgiving. In the last few years God has called quite a few of my family members home to be with Him and I would give anything for more time with them. He almost called my husband home 3 years ago. The time we have here is limited. We're not promised tomorrow. As Christians, we're called to love each other as Christ loves the church. Yes, we're even called to love our enemies too ( I know that's a tough one). We all have someone who rubs us the wrong way. What God has laid on my heart today though, is how we treat those we love dearly, those we call our loved ones. How can we say " I love you" but then not want to put them first? We have become self focused Christians, who constantly say "that's not fare" and " why me", " why do I have to suffer?". We think we deserve better than what we have, well let me tell you... We wouldn't like it as sinners if we got what we deserved. We feel it's more important to be right than to consider someone's feelings. As a child of God we need to stop looking through our eyes and start seeing what God is seeing and start listening instead talking. As important as we feel ourselves to be, we're not the only ones that matter. Put yourselves in someone else's shoes. Love like Jesus this year! I know it's not easy, but it's what we're told to do!
