Love One Another

This morning we're going to talk about love differently. We've talked about the love for our family, but what about those who aren't family or the lost. Jesus calls us to love one another. There's no specification in scripture that says we only have to love our family. Actually it's just the opposite, we're commanded to love everyone. Yes, even those who are difficult to love.

   1 Corinthians 16:14

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. - 1

If that's all we had to do is love those who loved us, being Christ like would be a lot easier. That's not how this works though. Jesus loved us enough to lay down His life. He loves us even when we're unlovable. So if we're supposed to be striving to be more like Christ, we should be working at loving Like Him.

  1 John 4:8
[8]He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Wow, if we don't love like Christ, we really don't know Him. That's pretty serious. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be accused of not knowing God. I want to hear one day "well done my good and faithful servant"  Matthew 25:21.
