Hi there,
Proverbs 29:7
[7]The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
Galatians 6:2
[2]Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Romans 12:10
[10]Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Philippians 2:4
[4]Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
I have attempted to finish this post since before hurricane Helene. God has His timing for everything. Through the storm, recovery, work, family and friends I have seen a tremendous amount of caring. Care comes in many forms. It can surprise you when you least expect. When there's days you feel lost or forgotten, care can come along and lift your soul.
When it's most surprising, is when care comes from someone you thought had no concern for you. God uses everyday Christians to swoop in with compassion and bring the Holy Spirit into a situation.
It's hard sometimes when we live in a world where non believers and Christians both have a lack of empathy for others. I thought there was issues with someone I work with. This person proved me wrong and has surprised me with kindness! I've seen my boss and coworkers step up and help each other in a tough time. I see churches coming together and working for the need of others. There are so many ways we can care for one another. It doesn't always have to be a physical act, it can be a kind word or praying for someone.
As we get ready to start a new week, let's put care and compassion to work in our lives and the lives of others. We have so much to be thankful for. So many have loved ones passed on, family missing, homes gone, vehicles gone, no power, no fresh water and no job to return to. Some of these affected have no hope because they don't know Jesus. Let's be Jesus for this world so they will turn to Him.
