Rooted In Christ
Good morning,
Colossians 2:6-7
[6]As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
[7]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Ephesians 3:17-19
[17]That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,[18]May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;[19]And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
John 15:5
[5]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Galatians 2:20
[20]I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Luke 6:48
[48]He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Colossians 1:23
[23]If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Psalms 1:3
[3]And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
If a tree has shallow roots, it can be blown over by a strong wind. A tree with rotten roots can be toppled easily as well.
This applies to Children of God too. When we're not deeply rooted in Christ, we're not able to stand the storms that come. If we have been rooted with an unhealthy base, our faith won't stand the test of time.
Being soundly rooted in Christ, His love will reflect in and through us. We will be filled with God. We also then, will bring forth good fruit. A rotten tree doesn't bare fruit.
As His child, being established, I live for Christ, because He died for me. It's with Christ living in me that I can stay strong.
My foundation is Christ, He's my solid rock. Therefore, having Christ as my foundation I can stand the storms that come.
In order to be deeply rooted in Christ, we must maintain our faith and stay hopeful in the Word Of God. When we maintain our relationship with Christ and stay grounded in Him, we won't wither and we won't fail in His works. The proof will be in our fruit and how we stand the trials that come.
