Good morning,
1 Thessalonians 5:18
[18]In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
The Bible mentions the word "gratitude" (χάριτι and other variations in Greek) 157 times. It does not appear as frequently as "fear not" (which is said 365 times), but it appears more than "thanks" or "thanksgiving" (mentioned 72 times).
Obviously God wants us to be grateful! We are supposed to fulfill the will of God and it plainly says in this verse that it's the will of God that we are grateful.
I understand there are times when it's hard to be grateful. However, no matter how bad things are there's always something we can be grateful for. We need to take time and thank others for their kindness, thoughtfulness, prayers and love. No one has to be there, but they choose to. Thank them for it and be grateful for them. If you don't have a car or house as nice as everyone else, be grateful that there's wheels to get you where you need to go and a roof over your head. If you're unsatisfied at your job, have gratitude for the job you have. If you have health issues, stop and think, I'm sure there are others worse off. Give thanks for your health. You get where I'm going with this right. Let's be grateful for every little and big thing in our lives. #gratefulness #gratitude #bethperry #sharingthegospelofchrist sharing-the-gospel-of-christ.com
