Good morning,
Psalms 116:15
[15]Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
Each of us have a predestined day that we will be called home. We aren't promised tomorrow. Knowing that, we should live each day serving God like it's our last.
I have a passion for hospice and end of life. I want to pray with and comfort those who are getting close to going home. I also feel a pull to comfort the families as well. This time in a person's and their family's life can be a very difficult one.
We often think of serving God as reaching the lost and living. This is something we need to do. However, it's not the only service a Christian can provide.
1 Timothy 5:3
[3]Honour widows that are widows indeed.
Exodus 22:22
[22]Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
Psalms 34:18
[18]The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Matthew 11:28
[28]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
1 Corinthians 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Ecclesiastes 4:10
[10]For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
We are called as His children to be there for each other and lift one another up. We need to encourage, pray with and share scripture with each other. When one of us is down, we need to take that person to the cross. We all will have times of need and sorrow in our life. How much easier are those times to bear when we have the love of a fellow Christians?
If you're feeling alone and don't have others to help hold you up, fear not because God Himself will hold you up! I'm here to pray for you. Don't go through it alone.
